In the early morning of April 24, the Carleton Heights Curling Club caught fire, ending the curling season early. The bar and kitchen were destroyed. The lounge and parts of the basement were also damaged by the fire and the efforts to contain it.
While almost all curling equipment and club furnishings are no longer usable, we are working hard to rebuild the club for next season. With the help of the Board and club volunteers, our goal is to have the ice and locker rooms operational in the fall, even if repairs to the upstairs lounge and kitchen take longer.
There’s a long road ahead, but progress is already underway.
A devastating fire ripped through Carleton Heights Curling Club in late April. The club is in the process of rebuilding, but unfortunately insurance does not cover all the damages. Please see the post below for more information.
